Ugh I bet it does stink! I’m totally gonna buy Uncurly and try it out. I used to have really full, poofy hair, but it’s been very oily and in bad shape recently. I don’t think it’ll take me that long to do, I just want it to be frizz free! Especially in the summer

If you're good at flat ironing your own hair it's a piece of cake, it just takes me 5 hours (my hair is pretty long though) and my arms and shoulders are generally aching by the time I'm done. I was super freaked out about it the first time I did it, thinking I'd fry my hair, but it really is exactly like flat ironing it straight. And it smells awful, I put the bathroom fan on and blow a stand fan at my face while I do it, it's pretty nasty.

But you think time is the only differentiating factor? I don’t mind putting in the time & effort, as long as it’s effective and I can’t burn all my hair off 😂

I've done several versions. I've done the home version, uncurly, quite a few times, it's inexpensive and works great, lasts for 3-4 months, but it takes a crazy long time to do. You can't wash it, get it wet, or put product in it for 48 hours. I've had the Paul Mitchell Brazilian Blowout at a salon as well, that one could be washed right away. I had it done in August, and I haven't needed to do anything since. It's not perfect like it was, but the frizz and curl is still reduced enough I can manage with just a blow dry and flat iron. In it's natural state blowing it straight is impossible. Personally, I'll probably stick with the uncurly, just because I can get 2 uses out of an $80 bottle and the salon version was $250, but if I could afford it I'd do the salon one just because it's so time consuming.

I love BBs, but they are expensive and temporary. I’ve tried Color Wow Dreamcoat and it is a great product for keeping hair smooth and silky. It lasts 2 shampoos and is only $28 per bottle. Depending on the length of your hair, you can get 4+ treatments from a bottle. Hope this helps!

I get them every couple of months! Great on my lightly wavy really fluffy hair and allows me to use less heat! I took about 5 months off from getting one and I could really tell a difference, much more frizz and fluff. It blow dries straight and I only use a couple passes of a flat iron around my face. It air dries in my natural waves but much less fluff. Overall looks very sleek and makes hair feel so strong! I got one for the first time after having a terrible perm for 5 months and it basically reversed it back to my normal hair texture. Since then, I’ve kept getting them. I swear by Brazilian blowouts and recommend them to everybody!

It’s recommended that you do color before a Brazilian Blowout. According to the manufacturer, you’re safe to color your hair after 14 days so you should be fine.

Question. I got my 5th Brazilian a few days ago but didn’t have time to do color. I want to get color so I have an appointment for color set for 18 days after the Brazilian. Now I’m not dying for color but would like it, is it worth it to color or should I enjoy my Brazilian longer then color in a few months? Will color super strip the Brazilian?

Sounds like it wasn’t done properly, used the wrong shampoo at home or put other chemicals (color) on your hair within 2 weeks of doing a Brazilian blow out. Usually it’s one of those 3 things that cause this.

You can wash your hair right after, can last for up to 12+ weeks if you follow the aftercare instructions Compared to other treatments you can use a hair type or Bobby pins right away
